George, a former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL running back, has been the head coach at Tennessee State for the past four years. In that time, he has compiled a record of 24-22. In 2021, he led the Tigers to a 9-3 regular season record and was named the Big South-OVC Coach of the Year. However, the team lost in the opening round of the NCAA FCS playoffs.
